More About Medway Station
Medway is situated just over 100km west of Emerald running 1,700 commercial and stud
droughtmaster breeders. They are run on 55,000 acres of grazing land ranging from the hilly outcrop off the Drummond Range to sandy loam creek flats, and iron bark ridges that make up Medway.
400 Joiner heifers are run and mated on the northern half of Medway comprising of box / gum creekflats running into rosewood ridges. All male progeny are sent from Medway to Craigywarren and Oak hole after weaning.
Over four decades the Droughtmaster breeds versatility has worked hand in hand with our diverse landscape at Bogantungan and supported our business in the good and bad years.

Purchased in 2011, located 50km north east of Capella at the bottom of the peak range sits Old Corry. Semi open undulating forest country in the higher reaches of Old Corry, is complemented by 400 acres of cultivated self-mulching black soil with areas of downs country and patches of scrub type country make Old Corry a safe breeding and back grounding operations.
AI and IVF programs have been carried out at Old Corry in recent times aided by summer crops; by utilising these programs it has made it possible for us to import Beefmaster semen into Australia, which we have been doing since 2018.
All our Beefmaster cattle are run on Old Corry allowing us to critically analyse their performance. A base of 300 Registered females were placed at Old Corry in the 2019 drought and the Droughtmasters adaptability has come up trumps in these breeders transition.

Coorambulla is situated approximately 66km northwest of the Gympie in the Glen Echo district. This coastal country is approx 2,000 acres in a 40 inch rainfall area with around 200 breeders, 120 heifers and also 40 paddock bulls.
The adaptabiliy of the heifers sent to Coorambulla in 2020 is a sure credit to the breed, we currently run a rotational grazing program with the breeders and find it is what works efficiently in the conditions presented.

Situated in the Peak Downs district of Capella, Craigywarren was purchased in 2003 and is utilised as a bull depot and steer backgrounding and finishing property.
Comprising 6,000 acres of predominantly black soil downs country with a scattering of scrub soil type country. Bull growth and backgrounding and finishing of livestock at Craigywarren is aided by 2,200 acres of cultivated blacksoil and a 400 head feedlot.
Both summer and winter crops are grown depending on the seasonal conditions. Forage Sorghum is chopped for silage and stored for the feedlot operation and has enabled the business to drought proof the varying seasons.

Oak Hole is situated 33 km west of Capella.
The property is 5,000 acres of predominantly developed brigalow country where weaner steers are trucked over from Medway & Old Corry to background and in a good season they are finished off as bullocks and sold directly to the abattoir.
Oak Hole was acquired in 2012 from Sandra’s (Hastings wife) parents as a part of their succession plan.
